Quick report from 6/17/2023 - Major repairs and grading underway. Currently closed to motorized vehicles but open to bikes. Extremely steep in switchback section. Repairs have left some loose gravel and rock that will improve with more traffic once it reopens. Currently, there are still some fairly deep water crossings.

Taking Silver Canyon Road from Bishop is an exciting and changing ride. Lots of loose rock and sharp turns, steep grades and unforgiving opportunities to ride off into oblivion. Once on the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Road, it get much better. Highly recommended if you have the skills.
