Starts as gravel and then goes to dirt track at the Jefferson Forest gate about 1 mile in. Fairly mild and definitely doable on a rigid bike.

Originally called this fairly mild because it had been too long since I'd been out there... on a revisit, it's fairly mild at the bottom, but does have some pretty big rocks and ruts the closer to the parkway it gets. Still absolutely doable on a rigid bike, but it's fairly rowdy at points.
