Dirt Segment
On Long Canyon Rd, Moab, Grand County, Utah
Starts at the pavement on Utah 279 from Moab, and ends at the pavement of Utah 313. Steep climbs and extremely slippery when wet. Crosses under a leaning rock, which is a great photo op. Dirt, rock steps. Good for MTB, manageable for large adventure motorcycles and brave SUVs. 2WD cars should not go the whole route.

I'd like to add that this is not a typical gravel ride. Long Canyon is steep, loose, and quite technical. Most people will want a hard tail for this.

This is an adventure ride and should be on everyone's list. It is amazing and a very difficult ride. This ride will put your bike to the test. Don't be afraid to walk. Watch for Side-by-Side cars, they do zip, but there were not many. I would recommend going up the valley, downhill would be scary in many spots where there are washouts next to a cliff. That said. Do this ride.
