Gravel Route
On Balm Beach Rd E, Simcoe County, Ontario
Starts on the Tiny Rail Trail, you can start at any one of the parking lots down the trail if you want to extend the ride. There are two short sections of road, Baseline Rd which has a narrow but pretty solid gravel shoulder if you want to play in the gravel but this road is generally pretty quiet. County Rd 29 is a busier road but has wide gravel shoulders to stay well off the road, they're pretty soft but it's not a very long ride. The ATV/moto trails are pretty fun and I found myself going a bit too fast, watch out for roots and rocks here and there, there's one short uphill that has deep sand that might require a CX run for about 10-15 feet, ride the trails along the side of the road to avoid pavement, they're fun and challenging, The marsh area can be wet well after a rainfall but it's only in a small section of trail and watch out for apples on the trail in the late summer. There are lots of ATV/moto trails to explore and quite a few gravel roads to turn off on if you want.
