One of the best gravel rides in the area. Pure classic... Fast gravel on lonely roads with vintage geographic SW vibes. The visit to cox canyon arch is a must as it's trophy sandstone towers make awesome backdrops for your ride pics. No problems with peaky people 99.7% of time. I rode this route well over a half dozen times in 2025 exploring multiple versions and no problems. It is remote so beware of mechanicals.

Attempted this loop yesterday and was greeted with unfriendly residents just after you pass into NM. They informed me that the turn onto CR 2310 is a private and told me to turnaround. True or not, the ominous sign that reads “Private Road, Residents have guns and backhoes” was enough to make me reroute. Too bad, because the gravel from La Posta to the turn off was nice.
