Trail and road are in excellent shape and this was a great ride. Initial climb is no joke, and make sure not to miss the unmarked left onto Canyon Crest Trail on the way down (it's actually Forest Service Road 7300-550 but sign is broken and it's not accurate on Google maps either)

Great ride, thanks for the recommendation. I made it to the old railway plateau and then started seeing big piles of scat and felt very alone so I road back down and did a lap around the valley before parking it at the pub.
