Cove Creek Trail

Singletrack route from Blue Ridge Pkwy to National Forest 475 Rd, Canton, Transylvania County, North Carolina

"All downhill single track, turns to gravel at campground. On gravel bike it is pretty rough with a lot of roots. Beautiful area though. A few wood bridges over creeks, some hike a bike sections due to drop offs. MTB would be fine, but gravel and no suspension may hurt. After 45 miles this last 2 miles of rough single track really beat me up. Once on gravel you will see a river crossing (wet), take tail to left and cross wooden bridge to avoid water."

FS225

Gravel route from Headwaters Rd to Blue Ridge Pkwy, Canton, Transylvania County, North Carolina

"Wide gravel forest service road. The gravel dead ends. Before the dead end look for Cove Creek Trail on your left, it drops off and is unmarked. It is single track down to Cove Creek Campground. Cove Creek is rough, several hike a bike spots, but a very pretty trail with a few cool creek crossings."

Buckhorn Gap Trail

Singletrack route on S Mills River Rd, Pisgah Forest, Transylvania County, North Carolina

"Descending mostly, rough, rocky in spots, some tiny creek crossings and wet areas. Riding a gravel bike it is pretty rough and beats you up a bit. After crossing bridge over river you parallel river and it is rocky, wet, but fun. Trail it soon turns into wide gravel and ends right at Yellow Gap Rd."
