Seven Springs Rd to Bloody Basin Junction

Gravel route from N Cave Creek Rd to F R 269, Black Canyon City, Yavapai County, Arizona

"As an out and back, you're looking at over 6000 ft. of elevation gain. Bring your climbing gears (and legs)! This route is 95% gravel. Depending on the time of year, Seven Springs Road is either graded smooth hardpack (Winter) or loose, choppy washboard gravel (Summer). Access to the road is via Cave Creek road before it turns into Seven Springs Road. A good place to park is in the clearing near the Ranger Station at the turn-off to Bartlett Lake. There is a water crossing just south of Seven Springs Campground - is it usually rideable at only a few inches deep, but be careful during the rainy season. North of the campground about 8 miles in is very remote - there are no water sources or services other than the creek at the campground. Don't expect to see anyone except the rare rancher. Bring plenty of water (200+ oz per person) for a day ride and start early before 5:30 am in the Summer months."

Castle Hot Springs - Cow Creek Loop

Gravel route on Castle Creek Dr, Morristown, Yavapai County, Arizona

"With the steep grades encountered, expect this loop ride to take around 3 to 4 hours. Wide tires 2 inches or larger will help get through the deep sand as Castle Hot Springs road shares a dry creek bed for several miles. Parking at the North Lake Pleasant lot is $6 for cars, or one could add distance and park a few miles outside the park entrance to save on the fee."
