My ride was counter-clockwise around this loop. The descent can be bumpy with washboard surfaces in the turns. It's fun but if you are like me you will use your brakes (alot). The National Forest Road is probably the better surface, although it's dotted with areas where boulders lie just beneath the dirt. There is a country store at the bottom (Coffey's General Store) but bear in mind that it is only open during the Summer (May to September?)
