Sorry I am not from the area. Is this a bike path or is it also a vehicle path like jeeps?

I biked the CSX trail on my gravel bike (well, cyclocross bike). Large gravel rocks and hard surface provided for a very jarring 11 miles. But it's doable and the bikes held up fine. The trail has plenty of distance from the tracks and it feels safe. It was not a comfortable ride but the morning had thick fog and we preffered the trail to route 9, which is a narrow, windey, and hilly road not accustomed to cyclists.

Has anyone tried the CSX trail from Great Cacapon to Berkeley Springs recently?

I just traveled this route from Paw Paw to the bridge in Hancock Md. on 9/17/17 and came across two CSX gates on this path with signs stating locked gate ahead. The gates were both open. Does anone know what is going on along this path? Will they be closing off portions of this road?
