Drunken Charlie Lake is also a good destination. Navigating to it is a bit of a challenge but the hill up to the lake is also a challenge. (The lake itself is not an attraction.) Just past the lake are some excellent views from a 500m ridge line.

I'd skip that first left at about 2 miles in and just continue straight on the main road. I went about 1/2 mile down that way and it was in bad shape. Lots and lots of trees down and really overgrown. Not sure how it was when this was first recorded but oof, it's no bueno in there right now.
