Gravel Route
On E 300 S, Hyrum, Cache County, Utah
51 miles, 4499’ vertical  Stiff but quick climb up Blacksmith Fork Canyon, which is bonkers pretty, and then a turn up equally-scenic and well-shaded Left Hand Fork. Left up Herd Hollow and onto the Great Western Trail to descend to Laketown Road and toward Hardware Ranch and the finishing pavement back to the start down Blacksmith.  Stuff to know: narrow shoulder up Blacksmith, but the locals are used to bikes and amazing. There is no resupply. Bring everything. Everything is high up, so bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. It’s pretty shaded down below and well-trafficked in general. The Left Hand Fork gravel can be kinda chunky but the Laketown and Hardware gravel are amazing.
