Except for the access to Cochiti Lake, which recently reopened, Cochiti Pueblo is currently closed to non-residents due to COVID-19. And even pre-COVID, I believe access had been blocked on La Bajada Hill ( at least for motor vehicles ), so it's inappropriate to trespass beyond the gate at the beginning of the lower switchbacks. As is common in the Caja del Rio Plateau, the approach to this site on CR 56C starts out gravel and soon becomes hard-pack dirt, with variable conditions, but the approach should be rideable on a gravel bike and it's a good view from the top of the escarpment. It's also a nice view into the Santa Fe River Canyon from a spur to the east. The view gets even better with a short hike down the ancient footpath, but it's pretty rocky for bike shoes.
