My brother and I did this on July 2, 2023 and it was a SLOG! As Ben said, definitely a super tough ride! There’s some awesome gravel/atv trails for the first ~23 miles followed by ~12-15 miles of sand that was anything but fun. After the sand was the final ~10-15 miles of some solid gravel with a lot of fun descending and climbing. This almost made up for all the horrible sand we had to plow through! Overall it was one of the most challenging 50 mile rides either of us have done! If I had to do it again I’d either use my hard tail with 2”+ tires or fat bike to deal with the sand (I ran 700c X 43mm gravelkings, absolutely not wide enough)…or find a way to skip it.

This route was amazing. If you want a super tough ride, varied gravel/mixed surfaces and an adventure, this is it! Be ready to let some psi out in the sandy sections, they can be brutal. The last part is super sketchy from flood washing the trail out. I thought this made it more fun!
