I rode this on 11/5/2023. It is a very enjoyable, undulating climb up to the NC-90. I did this on a gravel bike with 45mm tires, which worked well for me. There were a few steep sections where I wished I had slightly easier gearing, but these tended to be short and manageable. The surface was mostly hard packed dirt with lose stones and sand on top. There was one section where the road got a little too rowdy and I had to unclip as I was unable to find a good line. I encountered 2 cars, 2 motorcycles, 2 ATVs, and 2 cyclists - it was pretty quiet! Highly recommend.

A good workout from Maple Grove Church to Collettsville park. We ran a 30 minute shuttle by taking Hwy. 90 to the gravel road entrance to Maple Grove Baptist Church. 20 miles down with plenty of ups and downs, a few good vistas and rock outcropping. My e-bike handled it well with large tires.

great route. most cyclists i saw were going opposite direction. descending rather than climbing.

Great route. Watch out for others...bikes, horses, etc. lots of blind corners so stay to the right!

Great route, have ridden it for the past 10 years. Would count on a slightly longer ride time, something like 1.5 hrs plus depending on fitness. This is known as the Maple Sally road...enjoy!
