On the Eastern starting point, you will come upon a gate and a "bridge out" sign about a mile in at the water crossing. There is no way around. We drove around and parked at mountain bike trailhead at Auction Barn road and intercepted Old Wire. Once we got into the dirt/gravel sections, we quickly found that it was not passable with 40c gavel tires on a tandem. Mountain bike with knobbies didn;t have a lot of trouble though. Will be very challenging on anything but wider mountain bike tires as the road goes from hard back to deep sand alternating every 1/4 mile.

This route needs to be modified. There is a gate on the starting end that prevents getting on the road from Fisher Hill. You'll need to start at Teals Mill Rd. There is another gate blocking southward progress at the intersection with Scotch Rd-you'll need to go left at that intersection to jump out onto Hwy 1. The last stretch from 145->151 is open and clear. This route would probably be too sandy for a larger adventure bike without alot of sand experience and knobbies. Would be great fun on a dirt bike. Would also be a rideable route on a gravel bike.
