Gravel Route
On Angler Ave, Hemet, Riverside County, California
Very scenic with lots of curves ... the route starts at Diamond Valley Marina and follows the shoreline around the lake with water views from 100% of the trail. Parking fee $10 per vehicle and $3 per person for trail use. Trail has portable restrooms, shaded picnic areas and is a well graded gravel road. Very uncrowded with amazing views of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio mountain peaks ... the trail is pretty much flat and cut about 100 feet above the lake shore. Marina area has a store with drinks and snacks and shaded picnic area and full bathrooms. Great spot if you don't mind spending a few buck for secure parking and some nice amenities. Photo opportunities are amazing. Route crosses the three dams that created this massive reservoir and wildlife viewing ... especially waterfowl are great. Fishing is excellent too.
