For the time being, I strong suggest that people stay away from Rensselaerville state forest, given the current social climate. Last weekend, I went out to try some trails, and I encounters three men firing their weapons into the forest. There was no proper barriers behind the targets, etc. These men were heavily tattooed, bearded, and sunglasses. They looked militia and appeared to be practicing. The environment did not seem safe, so I booked out of there fast.
