Dirt Route
On Atwood Dr, Orlando, Orange County, Florida
Typical Florida Pine Scrub. Pretty and quiet, with only the occasional hiker. Road/trail surface mostly consists of packed dirt/sand and grass, with short periods of loose gravel or sugar fine sand. Can be near impossible to traverse when there has been a lot of rain, with some rather deep muddy puddles and shallow river crossings. Couple of camp sites that can be reserved as well. There is a more official entrance on the east side of the preserve in Wedgefield. This route starts and finishes from Avalon Park, and you will have to pass your bike through the middle bars of a gate which is locked off for some reason.
