Dirt road that can be used with County Road 17 to connect Ridgway and Ouray. Drivable in a passenger car and suitable for gravel bikes. To ride to Ouray, fork right onto County Rd 17. County Road continues east to Hwy 550 north of Ouray.

Would always bike this way rather than taking US-550 to/from Ouray.

This is a beautiful and easy ride! I have run along these roads for the Mt. Sneffels Half Marathon, Ouray to Ridgway, but it is even prettier going Ridgway toward Ouray. We didn't go all the way to Ouray, just about six miles out and six miles back. Beautiful countryside with surrounding mountains.

This is a beautiful ride! I have run this route in the opposite direction for the Sneffels Half Marathon, but riding it from Ridgway toward Ouray is much prettier. We didn't go all the way to Ouray, just about six miles out and six miles back. Easy and enjoyable ride with beautiful countryside and surrounding mountains.

I second that notion (connecting to 17 to Ouray)! Fast out & back ride.
