From Eagles Nest Rd, Deer River, Itasca County to Norway Beach Rd, Cass Lake, Cass County, Minnesota
Crosses the Chippewa Nat'l. Forest, primarily on FR 2171. If you are on an MTB, you can park at the Cutfoot Visitor Center or the boat landing and take the MTB trails through Simpson Creek Primitive Area and intersects with Eagles Nest Rd. just east of Simpson Creek. The Chippewa NF has the highest density of nesting Bald Eagles in the Lower 48 states. Also great fishing for walleye, bass, muskie and panfish. Numerous dispersed camping opportunities plus 6 USFS campgrounds. Info/maps at Visitor Center or USFS Ranger Station in Deer River.
