This route may not be passable all year. If starting from Vandeleur, the road starts out good gravel. As it approaches the edge of the escarpment it narrows to less than 2 lanes and drops through a hairpin (where there is a good lookout point) and then down into the Beaver Valley. There can be loose stones and water over the road. After crossing the bridge near the bottom you will come to stop sign and after crossing over the lower Beaver Valley Road the road immediately starts up the other side of the valley wall. Quite steep at times with wet spots, narrow and more loose stone.
