Nice, narrow gravel road. Closed halfway for unknown reason. Have to access through Amicalola State Park, but this provides good parking in safe lots at top of falls.

I have been on this several years ago. a few notes: 1. This is a paid for area, however if you let the gate attendant know you are not stopping for the falls but are there to go through to the top they will let you through free. 2. It was "closed" when I went as well. We went around the closed gate anyways. It was a partly overgrown trail and we linked into Nimblewheel gap rd.

Side-road leads to High Shoals church. Good detour to add miles to the trip.
