This route is about 80% gravel/dirt with some farm field doubletrack, RR underpass (I-25) and some canal dirt. There are options for more gravel east of Johnstown and/or northwest to Loveland.

This route feels like 80% gravel/dirt but is about 55% gravel/dirt. The Surface Tool is not accurate as it pushes the surface type to a turn (sometimes) and not the point you choose. Early on you can add more gravel by turning west off of CR 5 onto CR 28, turn north onto CR3, turn east onto CR 32 and north back onto CR 5. There are several places, especially on the north end that you can add more gravel on this route. I would stay off the farm field if there is farming activity and make sure there is no train when going under I-25 on the south end of the route.
