Fun route. Got a little rugged on the section between CR68 and Gross Dam. The sections on the P2P were mostly downhill, except after Rollinsville it is a slight uphill. Maybe 10 miles paved total.
The climb to Golden Gate Canyon SP is long and sometimes pretty steep. From the dam to the high point is a 12 mile, 3100' climb (with some downhills in there). So starting in GGCSP would be a bad move. I started at Crescent Meadows which was pretty good (immediately starts with a steep climb), or where this map shows the start would be good too.
