Approx. 75% of this road is paved, the only unpaved parts are on the Utah side. There's a gravel stretch around Jesse Ewing Canyon that can have some loose washboard from rafting trailer traffic. Water can be filtered from the Green River or pumped from Bridge Hollow CG / John Jarvie Ranch area. The Utah side is more scenic and most elevation gain/loss. Very sun exposed so hot in the summer. No services and likely no cell phone service between Dutch John, UT and Maybell, CO, approx. 100 miles. Weekend rafting traffic possible but otherwise very light traffic.
