Gravel Segment
From Overland to Co Rd 87J, Jamestown, Boulder County, Colorado
County Road 87, also known as Balarat Road, is smooth, well-maintained, steep gravel. There are awesome views of both the plains and the tall mountains from Golden Age Hill at the Eastern endpoint. A locked gate and "no trespassing" sign prevent travel further East.

At the first intersection, at the top of the first big climb, you may turn left (North) and go a few km North-West, but you will be stopped by the gates and "no trespassing" signs at the entrances to several educational camps in the area. You cannot legally continue to Highway 7 (St. Vrain Dr.). As far as I can tell, you also can't connect to Overland Drive, Miller Rock, or Overland Road by going further West.
