Did this route the last weekend of April 2023. The bug situation is no joke, recommend the ride but be ready for biting gnats in the late spring. The ride itself is fine.

I did this route early Feb. 2022. This is an awesome loop! 10/10 would do again. There were 1.5 inches of snow on the ground which made the going a bit slow and slick in places. The views are gorgeous and the climbs and descents are all pretty gentle. You're on an unpaved fire road for basically the whole ride. There are a couple of bumpy sections (probably more bumpy in Feb. because the ground was frozen). I did the route clockwise, which I would recommend because that way you do the tougher climb at the beginning, and the smaller climb near the end is on a really nice smooth road for much of it.
