BTW: This segment is mislabeled. This is actually Welch Road, not Fairmount Road. These two roads diverge as you leave Scott Center, with Fairmount heading southwest.

Did this segment on 7/31/2026, as part of a longer loop ride, starting and ending at Scott Center. There is a small public building at Scott Center (west side of Scott Center Road) with a grass parking area. Not sure if it is officially allowed as parking for a bike trip, but we have done it a couple of times without any problem. Very pleasant ride through the Welch Farm property. Uphill from the start, but not bad. Notice the many birdhouses, and watch for the small farm stand in nice weather. Try not to spook the cows if they are close to the road!
