The backway into Evanston, WY from Utah or vice versa. The road is packed dirt and doable on a road bike in a pinch before returning to pavement the rest of the way.

Ran this segment on 10/19/2026 on a R1250GSA. Concur with original post surface description. In fact, I highly recommend this route from Evanston,WY to Utah. The scenery is breathtaking in places. Hands down the best way to avoid I-80 back to Park City, UT.
