County Road 1 is a dirt Road that goes over Log Hill to connect Ridgway and Montrose. Great views of the San Juans on this road. Gradual climbing from Montrose with steeper descent into Ridgway. Driveable in a passenger car and suitable for gravel bikes.

Rode in the summer when the high was around 90F and this is a very sun exposed road. Bring extra water with you. Good fun descent into Ridgway but climb there felt longer than expected.

We rode this on a Sunday morning, about 8:00. There was a lot more traffic than I expected, but the road is wide and wasn't dusty at all so it wasn't too bothersome. It gets prettier and prettier as you go, especially as you approach Log Hill Mesa. We didn't go all the way to Ridgway, just about six miles out and six miles back.
