Great route. If you want to make this a little bit longer, continue straight instead of turning right at Lake City. You'll pass through Malakoff State Historic Park (paved climb), then turn left onto Derbec Rd. (paved climb), and then left onto Back Bone Rd. (gravel descent). This loop adds 14mi/~800ft but is scenic and worth it.
