St Francis National Forest Roads...well maintained, low traffic, picnic areas, overlooks, beautiful scenery. A few other side roads need to be explored too!
This route is no longer 100% gravel. According to Google streetview, route 217 is paved from the dam at Storm Creek Lake to the dam at Bear Creek Lake.
The Lee/Phillips Rd 217 side of the loop has been paved as it seems the Park service is building some new campgrounds along the Crowley's Ridge section. I believe the section is just over 9 miles of the route. This info is from my ride 11/20/20.
