The initial climb to the hotel ruins is a steep and rough double-track road. This part would be rideable on a gravel bike with wide tires and low gearing. After the ruins, the route turns into a singletrack trail that is quite rough in places with multiple hike-a-bike sections. MTB definitely recommended if you attempt this trail. Bicycles are allowed on this historical Catskill bicycle corridor.
