This section of rail trail is reasonably flat , easy ride with a mix of gravel, stoney and slightly sandy surfaces. There are a number of old timber bridges with side tracks. There are a couple creek crossing which are fine in dry weather but can get muddy in the wet. This section is being constantly being improved by an amazing group of volunteers. No water or toilets but plenty of trees. Parking at Pigford lane, Walagan station, Takura , and Churchill mine road.
