"Going from Roanoke Co to Franklin Co the descent gets super steep for about a quarter mile. Unless you have nerves of steel it's going to be a hike-a-bike descent on a road bike. Coming at it from the other direction it's nearly unridable as an ascent too. But that's part of the adventure!"
