2021 Stupid Pony Route

Gravel route from Eagle Mountain Blvd to Eagle Mountain Blvd, Wendover, Tooele County, Utah

"Tough point-to-point roughly following the Pony Express National Historical Trail from Eagle Mtn to Gold Hill and then up to Wendover on gravel roads. Very little water or shade. Water can be had reliably at Fish Springs Wildlife Refuge. The pump at Simpson Springs is less reliable. Water can be begged in Callao. As of 2021, there's an AirBnB in Callao as well. No services between Vernon and Wendover. Not really any bailouts after the turnoff to Dugway. This is a biggy."

Big Mustang Loop

Gravel route on Airport Way, Wendover, Tooele County, Utah

"Fun, fun, fun! Climb to the ring road along the Toana Mtns bench and then ride rollers all the way to the Stupid Pony course following old Hwy 93. Super-fun. Gravel that doesn't mind if it's a bit damp, lots of variety, a bit of sand, and antelope and horses galore. 10/10"

Dead Cow Loop

Gravel route from Interstate 80 to Unnamed Road, Wendover, Tooele County, Utah

"Dive below Leppy Peak from I-80 back up to where the pavement starts. Can get sandy."

Silver Islands Backway loop

Gravel route on Leppy Pass Road, Wendover, Tooele County, Utah

"CX/Gravel bike acceptable. The east side portion of the ride is fairly packed down. Beware of large runoff channels that require a few non-optional bunny hops. The western portion has many sandy sections, the wider the tires the better. This ride could potentially be ridden as an out-and-back along the eastern portion of the Silver Island Range, as the western side is less interesting visually and the sand stretches can be slow."

Wendover Happy Balloon with Aria Climb

Gravel route on 100 E, Wendover, Tooele County, Utah

"A little bit of everything: sand, loose chunk, bedrock, pavement. A few corners coming down to the east side that'll have you roosting if you're not careful. Stupendously pretty. Aria Blvd climb at the end is a butt-kicker."
