Around and up San Antonio Mountain

Gravel route on NM-126, Jemez Springs, Sandoval County, New Mexico

"I got the route from @theradavist https://theradavist.com/2020/10/a-pleasant-day-trip-bike-fishing-the-valles-caldera-national-preserve/ and added the spur up the mountain. All gravel fire road, double track and a little single track, with the final 4 mile descent on smooth pavement. Great ride on my Diverge with 47mm tires. There are hot springs at approx km 25. Cross the small river and follow the use trail up the slope a short ways. Good water flow, go on a weekday. "

Ponderosa to the caldera

Gravel route from Sprint Ln to NM-4, Jemez Springs, Sandoval County, New Mexico

"Well traveled dirt/gravel road. There's a big campground and a religious retreat near the bottom and a bunch of houses near the top. Washboarding makes this much easier to ride north rather than south."

Gravel route from Forest Service Rd 376 to NM-126, Jemez Springs, Sandoval County, New Mexico

"Just up from the Gilman Tunnels. The lower part is washboardy, but the surface gets much smoother, although still gravel, norht of Schoolhouse Canyon. A great loop ride is from Jemez Springs downhill to SR485, up past the town of Gilman, through the gorgeous Guadalupe Box where the road turns to gravel. Then to SR126, take a right for a wonderful downhill for about 3.7 miles to Hwy 4 and right back to Jemez Springs. A roughly 42 mile round trip w/ about 19 miles of gravel. An added bonus is about 1.5 miles from the top - take FR 604, to the right for .9 miles to a superb overlook of some Tent Rocks."
