Along the stateline maintained gravel/dirt. Views are great. Short trip on Highway 50 a necessity. Bonus you can get a picture at both the Colorado and Kansas signs."
16 mi gravel West River Road Gravel route from River Rd to River Rd, Coolidge, Hamilton County, Kansas "Nice route for a spin where the sandhills meet the Arkansas River. Mostly range and river pasture, cattle, horses, not unusual to see deer and turkey. Sam's Pond/Syracuse Sand Dune Park is city owned so parking is easy. Other end is a state wildlife area named Cottonwood Flats, generally a mowed area there as well." 1
