Elk Range Trail

Gravel route from Douglas Mountain Dr to Camino Perdido, Golden, Jefferson County, Colorado

"NOTE IN THIS ALTERNATES BETWEEN BIKE AND HIKE ONLY ON WEEKENDS. ALSO IT'S CLOSED IN SPRING/EARLY SUMMER FOR WILDLIFE. Frequently patrolled by park rangers. Old gravel road in County Park, closed to motorized traffic, could be called double track. Fairly good condition, somewhat a little rocky, some erosion from heavy MTB use, but overall very good."

Wright Park Gravel Loop

Gravel route on Wright St, Lakewood, Jefferson County, Colorado

"Crushed Gravel Trail as of 2022. City GIS maps list this as a multi-use trail which bikes are allowed. City is in the early process of designing improvements for the park so the gravel may be replaced in the future. Loop is great for practicing handling. There is a moderate decline to the NE corner."

Soda Creek Road

Gravel route from Soda Creek Rd to Co Rd 140, Idaho Springs, Clear Creek County, Colorado

"Variety of gravel conditions. Overall pretty good. Some dusty/fine silt gravel. Newer sections of gray gravel that is probably a little sharper stones than the older brown gravel, both of which are loose scattered rock on a harder surface. Very peaceful road to 4WD trailhead. Beyond this segment you can continue on the 4WD road and I did a little bit, but there were lots of very steep, very short ramps, it was signed to indicate non-motorized travel was allowed on the 4WD road beyond this segment. Before this segment is a beautiful freshly (2022) paved road. "
