The main trunk of FR 24 gets graded every once in a while, and that smooths out the rocky inclines and ruts, but creates sand/silt pits that may require some hike-a-bike. And it's mostly dirt, so rain will turn it into an unrideable mess until it dries out. And then it will be rutted from mudding trucks. So YMMV. But that's part of the fun, right? The Montoso Peak loop is unmaintained dirt and is challenging in a "trail rated" Jeep. 'nuf said. Great views of White Rock Canyon and the Jemez Mountains.

Forest Road 24 is a easy ride to the Loop. The Loop has quite a few Rocky sections and was challenging on my Gravel Bike. I'll come back with some suspension next time! Great views though!!
