Riding north from the intersection with Cabell Rd. (626) the forest is rather thin. As you get further along the forest thickens and the canopy shades the road. At about the 1.5 mile mark the road changes character: it becomes rougher. There are some shockingly steep sections. The elevation profile is misleading, but at least the climbs relatively short. The road climbs a ridge and then you descend towards the endpoint at Route 646. I would have uploaded photos but it's not obvious how to do that on this site.
