Gravel Segment
From Co Rd 151, Idaho Springs to Squaw Pass Rd, Evergreen, Clear Creek County, Colorado
Excellent quality, road bikeable. Grades below 10%. Some good views. A nice alternative to the lower part of paved Squaw Pass Rd which is treed and monotonous.

Awesome gravel climb- take it fast or slow, however you're feeling. Very rideable but if it's not challenging enough, just go faster. Enjoy the scenery!

Well described. Mostly hardpack w/ loose gravel scattered on top. Some sections can be dusty/sandy, particularly the the hairpins in the switchback. Some washboard but can be avoided and some sections with more potholes but very infrequently, overall a very good gravel road. Wasn't too confident in the tires holding a tight turn on the descent though. Grade is very manageable, just one steep section of 10% that is only about 0.2mi long and is the end of the steeper first 2/3rd of the climb.
