Dirt Segment
From UT-261 to Valley of the Gods Rd, Mexican Hat, San Juan County, Utah
A road that winds it way through natural rock formations that are equally as magnificent as Monument Valley, but there is no cost to ride this. It is north of Mexican Hat, Utah, turn east off of US 163, turn east on Utah 263 which heads to the famous Moki Dugway, a steep road with tight switchbacks, that gets towed trailers in trouble. The Valley of the Gods road begins before you get to Moki Dugway. Sand sections. Many places to camp out. Ends back on US 163 further north of Mexican Hat with a shallow water crossing.

Very rideable on my gravel bike with 42's. Rode the whole thing out and back, no big issues with sand or washboard. Very little traffic. Excellent sights. I also rode up 261 and out 241 -- both rewarding.
