"Starting at the Urangan pier the rail trail cuts through the centre of town crossing streets and following the old rail track. It is a wide well maintained bitumen path that gradually heads out of town past the hospital and into open fields , ending just past Nikinbah. The trail can be followed a few kms further (would not come up on map) but this requires a short stint on the side of the highway, turning right into Pigford lane for a short distance and then left to follow the rail trail again on gravel tracks across some new trail bridges before stopping at a wide wet area.
